HOW I WORK
You might be wondering whether counselling is right for you. Many people feel unsure, especially if they can’t easily put their feelings into words. If something in your life feels heavy, confusing, or difficult to carry alone, counselling may help. Counselling is a collaborative relationship, where we work together to make sense of your experiences at a pace that feels safe and right for you.

My approach is grounded in person-centred philosophy, with its focus on empathy and acceptance. I don’t believe people are broken or need fixing; I believe that, given the right conditions, we all have the capacity to understand ourselves more deeply and move towards change. Alongside this, I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to offer practical tools for recognising and managing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.
I OFFER COUNSELLING FOR A WIDE RANGE OF CONCERNS AND EXPERIENCES INCLUDING:
-
Anxiety and Panic
-
Stress, overwhelm and burnout
-
Low mood or depression
-
Self esteem and confidence
-
Understanding emotions such as anger or shame
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Grief or loss
-
Life transitions (e.g. menopause, retirement, empty nest)
-
Career and work-related concerns
-
The impact of trauma
-
Experiences of abuse
-
Addictive behaviours
